Bridgewater Carnival 2025

he Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival is one of the UK’s oldest and most spectacular illuminated processions, held in Bridgwater, Somerset, every year on the first Saturday in November. Spectators line the streets from 6pm as over 50 huge carnival carts — some up to 100 feet long and decorated with thousands of lights — parade through town, accompanied by costumed masqueraders, marching bands and majorettes. The dazzling spectacle takes over two hours to pass any given viewing point on the 1.7-mile route, culminating in a dramatic firework finale known locally as “squibbing.” The next event is set for Saturday 1st November 2025.
