Christmas at Wells 2026
Join us in Wells on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December for a festive weekend in the heart of the city!
Wells City Council is bringing festive cheer to Wells with a two-day Christmas Market, a family Christmas trail and a new Christmas lighting scheme.
Christmas Market
Explore more than 200 artisan stalls stretching from the bottom of Sadler Street through the Market Place, High Street, Queen Street and Broad Street. Discover unique gifts, browse independent traders and enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the weekend.
New Christmas lights
Wells High Street and Broad Street will feature a new warm white icicle lighting scheme this year, creating a welcoming festive atmosphere while complementing the traditional character of our city centre. The Council continues to work with the businesses involved to support arrangements for access and electrical supply.
Family Christmas trail
Bring the family along to take part in a festive trail, encouraging children and adults to explore Wells city centre and discover participating independent shops.

Make a day of it, explore our wonderful independent businesses and enjoy everything Wells has to offer this festive season.
This year’s celebrations mark the beginning of a longer-term approach to Christmas in Wells, with plans to continue developing the festive offering in the years ahead.
