Helston Flora Day returns to the Cornish market town for one of Cornwall’s oldest and most distinctive traditional celebrations. Held each spring, the event sees the streets filled with flowers, greenery, music and the famous Furry Dance, as hundreds of dancers move through the town accompanied by the Helston Town Band. Visitors can also experience the historic Hal-an-Tow pageant, community celebrations and a unique atmosphere that transforms Helston for the day.

Following a successful launch in 2026, the Seaton Pirate Festival returns for a swashbuckling day of free family entertainment in the town centre and along the seafront. Expect pirate parades, live music, street entertainment, market stalls, children’s activities, themed performances and plenty of costumed pirates, creating a fun-filled celebration for all ages on Devon’s Jurassic Coast.
Fisherman’s Friends Festival, Stithians Showground, Cornwall

Following a sold-out debut in 2026, the Fisherman’s Friends Festival returns to Stithians Showground for a weekend celebrating Cornwall’s music, maritime heritage and community spirit. Headlined by the Fisherman’s Friends alongside a programme of folk, acoustic and roots artists, the festival also features local food and drink, artisan crafts, family entertainment, camping and a warm Cornish atmosphere in the heart of the Duchy. The 2027 festival takes place over the late May Bank Holiday weekend.

The Sidmouth International Jazz & Blues Festival returns over the late May Bank Holiday weekend with four days of live jazz, blues, soul and funk performances in venues across the town. The festival combines ticketed headline concerts at Blackmore Gardens with free fringe performances, workshops and community events, attracting music lovers from across the UK.
Royal Bath & West Show, Shepton Mallet, Somerset

The Royal Bath & West Show returns to the Bath & West Showground near Shepton Mallet for three days, celebrating farming, food, countryside life and rural traditions. One of the largest agricultural shows in the South West, the event features livestock competitions, equestrian displays, agricultural machinery, food and drink producers, shopping, family entertainment, live demonstrations and hundreds of trade stands across the showground. Organised by the Royal Bath & West Society, the show has been a major part of the region’s agricultural calendar for generations.

Bournemouth 7s Festival returns to Chapel Gate near Christchurch for its 20th anniversary edition, combining competitive sport, live music, camping and festival entertainment across the Spring Bank Holiday weekend. Known as one of the UK’s largest sport and music festivals, the event brings together rugby, netball, hockey, dodgeball, fitness competitions, DJs, live acts, themed arenas, street food, fairground attractions and thousands of participants from across the country.
Devon Truck Show, Smeatharpe Airfield, Devon

Devon Truck Show returns to Smeatharpe Airfield near Honiton for its 10th anniversary edition, bringing together hundreds of show trucks, monster truck displays, live music, arena entertainment, camping, trade stands, family attractions and festival-style evening events. One of the South West’s largest truck gatherings, the event attracts vehicles and exhibitors from across the UK and Europe, with weekend camping, stunt shows, funfair rides, food vendors and live entertainment throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

English Riviera Airshow, Paignton, Devon
4 to 6 June 2027
The English Riviera Airshow returns to Paignton for three days of spectacular flying displays over Tor Bay, alongside a packed programme of entertainment on the ground. Free to attend, the event features military and civilian aircraft, interactive exhibits, food and drink stalls, family activities and a lively seafront atmosphere, making it one of the South West’s biggest annual events. Many people make a weekend of the airshow by staying in Paignton, Torquay, Brixham or nearby towns along the English Riviera. Accommodation is often booked well ahead of the event.
Discovery Festival, Central Park, Plymouth
11 to 13 June 2027
Discovery Festival is expected to return to Central Park in Plymouth for a weekend of live music, food and drink vendors, VIP experiences and festival entertainment. Previous line-ups have featured major chart, rock and pop artists, helping establish the event as one of Plymouth’s most ambitious outdoor music festivals. Ticketmaster listings currently show the next Plymouth festival weekend running from 11 to 13 June 2027, although organisers have yet to confirm the event or announce line-up details.
Glastonbury Festival, Pilton, Somerset
23 to 27 June 2027
Following its traditional fallow year in 2026, Glastonbury Festival returns to Worthy Farm for five days of world-class music, performing arts and culture. As one of the world’s most famous festivals, it brings together hundreds of stages featuring international headline acts alongside theatre, circus, comedy, cabaret, dance, spoken word, healing fields and family entertainment, creating an unforgettable experience in the Somerset countryside. The 2027 festival dates have been confirmed as Wednesday 23 to Sunday 27 June.
