A Cheerful Queer(ful) Poetry Workshop with Kat Lyons

This event is part of the Out There Fringe Fest’26 performance programme, supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
Chococo, Gandy Street – Wed 23 Sept – 5pm – 6.15pm
A 75 min poetry workshop on writing about LGBTQ+ identity, experiences and joy, led by the brilliant Kat Lyons. Designed for LGBTQ+ writers and poets, this workshop will get you writing in new ways, with playful exercises and creative activities. A chance to share and connect with fellow writers – any experience welcome, from first time poets to seasoned wordsmith
Plus, a free hot chocolate (or other hot drink) for every participant!
Kat Lyons is a Queer writer, performer, workshop facilitator and creative producer. They were Bristol City Poet from 2022-24, and their poetry collection Love Beneath the Nails is available from Verve Poetry Press. They are interested in how stories connect us to our world and each other, and believe everyone has a story to tell, and a voice worth hearing.
