Pirates of the Carabina present an outdoor aerial and acrobatic circus show celebrating female solidarity, sisterhood and the ability of different generations to support and inspire one another. Suitable for all ages, On The Shoulders combines aerial circus, dance, puppetry and theatre within the distinctive surroundings of Burrow Hill Cider Farm near Martock. Performances take place at 2 pm and 6 pm. Tickets cost £12 for adults and £6 for under-18s, while children under five attend free of charge. Partial Solar Eclipse, Cornwall

Cornwall will experience a dramatic partial solar eclipse, with around 95% to 96% of the Sun obscured. It begins at approximately 6.18 pm, reaches maximum eclipse at around 7.15 pm and ends shortly after 8.09 pm. The best viewing locations include the Isles of Scilly, Land’s End, Cape Cornwall, St Ives, Perranporth and west-facing beaches around Newquay. Choose somewhere with an unobstructed west-north-west horizon. Only view the eclipse through solar-viewing glasses marked ISO 12312-2 or ISO 12312-2:2015, purchased from a reputable manufacturer or authorised retailer. Ordinary sunglasses are not safe.
British Firework Championships, Plymouth, Devon

One of the South West’s biggest free summer events, the British Firework Championships sees leading pyrotechnic companies compete across two evenings above Plymouth Sound, with large-scale choreographed displays launched from Mount Batten Breakwater. Drawing huge crowds to Plymouth Hoe and the waterfront, the event combines spectacular fireworks, live entertainment, fairground rides and a festival atmosphere, with six companies battling to be crowned British champions. Many people stay overnight in Plymouth to enjoy both evenings of displays without worrying about travelling home.

The English Riviera Airshow returns to Paignton for three days of spectacular flying displays over Tor Bay, alongside a packed programme of entertainment on the ground. Free to attend, the event features military and civilian aircraft, interactive exhibits, food and drink stalls, family activities and a lively seafront atmosphere, making it one of the South West’s biggest annual events. Many people make a weekend of the airshow by staying in Paignton, Torquay, Brixham or nearby towns along the English Riviera. Accommodation is often booked well ahead of the event.
Discovery Festival, Central Park, Plymouth
11 to 13 June 2027
Discovery Festival is expected to return to Central Park in Plymouth for a weekend of live music, food and drink vendors, VIP experiences and festival entertainment.
